Analysis retention of nursing staff during the covid-19 pandemic at the Dumai City Hospital in 2022

Background: the incidence of nursing staff turnover during Covid 19 pandemic was highest among all with work agreements at Dumai City Hospital. With reduced number staff, hospital is risk experiencing disruptions in availability human resources.
 Purpose: To eksplore retention program Hospital.
 Method: This research a phenomenological qualitative research, sample 13 people. They were recruited using purposive sampling technique, and data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, FGD document searches. Data analyzed colaizzi methode which consist nine stages.
 Results: It found that staffing by head room for afternoon shift night still needs to be improved, orientation new rapid progress publication guidebooks report cards, preceptorship mentoring have taken place naturally improved making guidelines SOP, nurse career paths are focused on PK 1 assessment, rotation carried out based urgent conditions.
 Conclusion: The Hospital, namely staffing, mentoring, development developed from aspects planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring evaluating. So activities been taking can even better useful preventing turn over
